Victoria: Wildlife in the city, coastal viewpoints and parks

  • 2 hours 30 minutes (approx.)

  • Mobile ticket

  • Offered in: English

SINGLE TRAVELLERS GET IN TOUCH TO BOOK. Explore Victoria, BC, on a guided tour that focuses on the wildlife found in the urban area. Visit at least 3 different scenic locations and witness some of the animals that populate Victoria. The locations vary depending on the present wildlife and season but are mostly coastal viewpoints or local parks and one cemetery. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed and vary depending on the season and weather. Most likely, you will see seabirds and reef creatures like anemones and feather dusters, deer, and occasionally seals, sea lions, salmon migrating, and birds of prey. This tour involves a little walking on flat surfaces and is suitable for everyone, except children under 5 due to vehicle constraints. After you meet your guide, you will hop on a quick drive to your first location. Remember, your guide wants to see wildlife as much as you do, but sometimes the animals can be shy, and you might get a few sightings.

What to Expect

Shared tour (max 35)
3 stops
2 hrs 30 min duration

Stop at: Ogden Point Terminal

45 min

This amazing seawall boasts a great view but also TONS of local marine wildlife. From migratory birds to Birds of Prey and sea creatures like sea stars, sea cucumbers, and jellyfish, this point also attracts many seals, otters, and sea lions at the right time of year.

Stop at: Ross Bay Cemetery

30 min

Unexpected stop, but many cemeteries are small oases for wildlife. This historical site features the graves of many of Victoria's most famous deceased residents, such as Emily Carr but it also feeds and shelters many resident deer and birds.

Stop at: Fisherman's Wharf

45 min

What a stop! Visiting the Wharf is always exciting. From the food stop to the resident wildlife, this stop is always a highlight. Walk to the quiet end of the dock to spot our more shy residents like otters and seals, and peek under to marvel at the colourful creatures clinging to the docks, like feather duster worms (cuter than it sounds), plumose anemones, mussels and sea squirts.
