Tour from Morell to St. Peter’s Bay to Greenwich National Park

  • 6 hours (approx.)

  • Mobile ticket

  • Offered in: English

E-cyclists will meet at the old train station in Morell, a peaceful 30 km (19 mile) drive east of Charlottetown. After bike fitting and a brief tutorial we ride to Red Head Harbour. The tour will then follow the Confederation Trail eastward, crossing the Morell River and along the shores of St. Peter’s Bay to St. Peters. In St. Peter's, we'll head west towards Greenwich - PEI National Park, enjoying tranquil landscapes and panoramic views of the Bay. Upon arrival at the National Park, we’ll lock up the e-bikes and take a short hike across a 1 KM floating walkway to the shores of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The Greenwich Peninsula features extensive coastal dunes, wetlands, and habitats with rare plant species. After strolling on the beach and dipping our toes in the warm waters of the Gulf, we'll return to St. Peter’s for lunch (not included), and then enjoy a peaceful ride back to the Morell Train Station. This tour is an easy to moderate ride with about 2-3 KM of walking.

Pass by: Morell

The tour will follow the Confederation Trail eastward crossing the PEI Famous Morell River and then along the shores of St. Peter’s Bay to the Community of St. Peters. The Confederation Trail is a linear parkway (former railway) and now part of the TransCanada Trail and International Appalachian Trail networks. In St. Peter's we change direction and head in a westerly direction towards Greenwich - PEI National Park. Once we arrive at the National Park we will lock up the e-bikes and take a short hike through the Park and across a 1 KM floating walkway to the shores of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The Grenwich Peninsula contains an extensive and fragile coastal dune system, wetlands and various natural habitats in which numerous rare plant species are found. Among the most spectacular natural characteristics to be protected at Greenwich are the unusually large and mobile parabolic dunes with their associated counter ridges or Gegenwälle.
