What to Expect
Pass by: Kensington Market
Your host will plan a private and personalised itinerary based on your preferences, but you could start off at market and go from there. Kensington has long been an artists’ hub and thanks to its distinctly wonderful eclectic and bohemian vibe it is the best hipster hangout in the city. Seek out charming cafés, the city’s best Mexican snack foods, decades-old vintage stores, record shops and tasty vegan lunch joints.
Pass by: Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library
You can learn about Toronto's history at one of Canada's most incredible rare book collections which holds hundreds of thousands of gorgeous tomes that the general public can touch.
Pass by: University of Toronto
Toronto's culture can be experienced at the University. Admire the architecture of the campus which is epitomized by a combination of Romanesque and Gothic Revival buildings, most dating between 1858 and 1929.
Pass by: Old City Hall
Perhaps you fancy a stop at the Old City Hall, located off Queen and Bay St in the heart of downtown Toronto, was designed in Romanesque-style and completed in 1899 by E.J. Lennox, a prominent Toronto architect during that time. It remains one of the city's most prominent structures.
Pass by: St. Lawrence Market
Since 1803 the city’s top spot for fresh produce, delicious eats and artisanal goods. It will open your eyes to the real taste of Toronto and a visit can be included in your experience.
Pass by: Sugar Beach
One of the city's favourite summer pastimes is flocking to Toronto's beaches and luckily there are plenty of beaches in Toronto. Your host can point you to the best beaches to suit your taste.
Pass by: Distillery District
The pedestrian-only Distillery District, set in quaint 19th century buildings that once housed a large whiskey distillery, draws crowds to its cobblestone streets lined with hip indie restaurants, bars and boutiques. Art lovers come for the galleries, outdoor sculptures and dance, music and stage performances at the area's several theatres.
Pass by: Leslieville Dollhouse
You can see a unique house which instead of boxwood, hydrangeas and day lilies, features superheros, Hello Kitties, mermaids, and troll dolls. Owner Shirley Sumaiser has been collecting her stuffed and plastic critters for over twenty years, using them to fill up her little plot of Leslieville.
