What to Expect
Stop at: Castle Mountain
It is an iconic, castle-like peak known for challenging climbing routes and stunning views from the Trans-Canada Highway 1
Pass by: Crowfoot Glacier
The glacier gets its name from its three spurs that resemble a crow’s foot. It sits on the northeast side of Crowfoot Mountain, overlooking Bow Lake.
Stop at: Bow Lake
Bow Lake is a tremendous stop on the Icefields Parkway and one of our favorite Banff lakes to enjoy, it is also the closest lake to the headwaters of Bow River.
Stop at: Peyto Lake
The Peyto Lake requires a 1.6 km round trip short hike to the viewpoint, ice cleats will be provided for the hike in winter season.
Stop at: Abraham Lake
Abraham Lake is a stunning, man-made, turquoise lake in Alberta, Canada, famous for its unique ice bubbles in winter, formed by trapped methane gas from decaying matter, creating surreal frozen patterns, while its vibrant blue summer color comes from glacial rock flour, making it a prime photography spot despite being man-made. Abraham Lake's ice bubbles are frozen layers of methane gas from decaying organic matter, creating stunning, surreal patterns in the clear winter ice.
