Learn to Back Country Camp/Trip: Location: North Simcoe/South Muskoka (based in Collingwood) Are you eager to get away from the busy campgrounds and start camping in the back country? Step it Up Adventures is here to give you the knowledge and skills to plan and navigate your first hiking or paddling trip in the back country. What to Expect

Once you have booked your session we will reach out and have a consultation to learn what knowledge, skills and abilities you are most interested in learning. Topics may include all or some of the following:

1. Gear Selection: Buying tripping gear can be overwhelming and expensive. We help you navigate this by showing and discussing various pieces of equipment, such as sleeping systems, tents, water filtration, and camp stoves.
2. Packing: Learn how and what equipment and clothing to pack.
3. Food: Learn about various back country food options.
4 Selecting & Setting up your Campsite: Learn how to be "Bear Wise" and ensure you are safe when bad weather hits.
5. Map Reading & Trip Planning: Learn the fundamentals of basic map reading route planning.
6. Paddling & Hiking: Learn some base hiking techniques and/or paddling strokes and portaging tips.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the start time, the amount paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the start time will not be accepted.
Cut-off times are based on the experience's local time.
This experience requires good weather. If canceled due to poor weather, you'll be offered a different date or a full refund.
