What to Expect
Stop at: Abraham Lake
Abraham Lake’s famous Bubble Point is one of the most unique winter natural attractions in the Canadian Rockies. During the cold winter months, methane gas released from organic matter at the bottom of the lake becomes trapped beneath layers of crystal-clear ice, forming spectacular frozen bubbles that look like white discs suspended in time.
Stop at: Peyto Lake
Our visit to Peyto Lake includes a short and easy hike through a beautiful alpine forest, surrounded by mountain scenery and fresh mountain air. The well-maintained trail leads us to a designated viewpoint overlooking one of the most famous lakes in Banff National Park. From the viewing platform, you will enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Peyto Lake, renowned for its striking turquoise color and its unique wolf-shaped outline. This stop is ideal for photography, taking in the scenery, and learning about the natural history of the area, making it a perfect balance of light activity and unforgettable views.
Stop at: Lake Louise
At Lake Louise, you will have time to relax and fully enjoy one of the most iconic locations in Banff National Park. During winter, the lake freezes over, creating a magical setting where you can walk along the frozen surface, admire the surrounding snow-covered peaks, and take memorable photos. You will also have the opportunity to visit the historic Fairmont Château Lake Louise, warm up inside, purchase a high-quality coffee or hot drink, and enjoy the elegant alpine atmosphere. This stop is designed for a comfortable pace, allowing you to rest, explore at your leisure, and simply soak in the beauty of the Canadian Rockies.
Pass by: Bow Lake
On the way, we will pass by Bow Lake, a stunning glacial lake located along the Icefields Parkway. Bow Lake is especially significant as the source of the Bow River, which flows through Banff National Park and continues all the way to the city of Calgary.
Stop at: Banff Avenue
In Banff Town, you will have free time to relax and explore the heart of Banff National Park at your own pace. Banff Avenue, the town’s main street, is lined with charming cafés, restaurants, local shops, and boutiques. This time can be used to enjoy a meal or light snack at a local café, purchase souvenirs and gifts, or simply take a walk through the town while enjoying the mountain views that surround Banff. It is a comfortable and flexible stop, allowing you to unwind and enjoy the lively alpine atmosphere.
