Johnston Canyon: Frozen Falls
CA$95Experience Johnston Canyon at its most magical, blanketed in snow and sparkling with ice. Travel along the scenic Bow Valley Parkway, a corridor known for wildlife sightings. At the canyon’s base, your certified guide will lead you through towering limestone walls, across suspended catwalks and past Johnston Creek’s turquoise waters now transformed into glittering ice. Your first stop is the Lower Falls, where winter turns rushing water into dramatic frozen sculptures. From here, you’re free to continue on a self-guided hike to the Upper Falls. In winter, this 30-metre (90-foot) waterfall becomes a dazzling frozen curtain, a breathtaking sight and the perfect photo opportunity amid the serene hush of the canyon. To keep you safe and comfortable, we provide ice cleats and hiking poles, so you can explore with confidence. And after your hike, warm up with complimentary hot drinks on board, the perfect way to toast an unforgettable winter adventure in Banff National Park.
