Halifax Murder Mystery Self Guided City Detective Game

  • 1 hour 30 minutes (approx.)

  • Mobile ticket

This murder mystery experience is a true whodunit with suspects, alibis and a twist ending. Every clue hides in something real: a plaque, a statue, a facade in downtown Halifax. You will collect the evidence, piece together the case and accuse a suspect at the finale. We offer 24/7 customer support and built-in hints to guarantee that you never stay stuck. Also, the app will provide real historical facts and local legends about the landmarks you're visiting, making a learning experience as much as it's a fun one. The game can be played anytime, at any hour, and will take you ~90-120 minutes with optional cafe breaks. You can pause and resume whenever you want (even on another day). Total walking distance involved is about 1.5 miles and the game will end in the same area where it started, making it easy to fit into your day. It has intermediate difficulty and it's perfect for solo adventurers, couples, friends, families with older kids, or team-building events.

What to Expect

Private tour
8 places
1 hr 30 min duration
1655 Lower Water St

Become the lead investigator in a self-guided murder mystery game that turns downtown Halifax into your own crime scene. Your case: Bella, a famous travel blogger, was found dead during a ghost tour, and her killer is still somewhere, walking free. You will start at The Wave sculpture on the waterfront, where the app hands you the case file and your first lead. The trail takes you along the boardwalk and up into the historic downtown, past many local landmarks like the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, St. Paul's Anglican Church, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and Saint Mary's Cathedral Basilica. At each stop you will investigate your surroundings (inscriptions, statues, plaques, facades, etc.) to solve a puzzle that will reveal a piece of evidence. Every solved puzzle unlocks the instructions for the next chapter, plus some fun historical facts about the locations you're visiting. You can play alone or bring your whole group.

The game can be played all day, any day: just book a ticket and play whenever you want. It ends near the same area where it starts and will take you about 90-120 minutes. The total walking distance is about 1.5 miles (2.5 km).
