What to Expect
Pass by: Tom Thomson Memorial
We paddle by this location. The totem memorial can be seen from a distance.
Stop at: Canoe Lake Access Point (#5)
We explore the natural and human history of Canoe Lake. We paddle into secluded tranquil corners to connect with nature, see awesome reflections and look for wildlife.
Stop at: Algonquin Provincial Park
Two lakes, 8-16km of paddling, 600m portaging, 1.5km hiking to scenic lookout, learning the park history, eating wild edibles and local country bakery treats, swimming, cliff jumping, spectacular views and possible wildlife encounters - most of what Algonquin Park has to offer in one 6 hour guided adventure.
What's Included
- High quality tour photos (via Facebook)
- Wildlife observation (usually birds, turtles & squirrels; periodic moose & other mammals)
- Cliff jumping (if you like) & swimming
- Lunch (sandwich from Henrietta's Pine Bakery, granola bar)
- Canoe (shared 4 seaters), Paddle and life jacket
- Naturalist guide (canoe instruction, safety & nature interpretation)

- Algonquin Park daily vehicle permit (choose 'HWY 60 Corridor' location on Ontario Parks website.)
- Guide tip (5-10% of tour cost; please bring cash)
- Water - Clients must bring 2L of water per person
- Water shoes for walking knee deep in water - No flipflop/slides/Crocs/bare foot
- Rain gear - clients must have a proper rain jacket. Outside July/Aug rain pants are advised.
- Warm clothing if it's going to be cold - Make sure to check the weather and dress accordingly.

Where you'll meet your guide
On the actual Canoe Lake rocky beach, by the picnic tables, OUTSIDE the Ontario Park's office. Watch for our white van/trailers, canoes and guides with the Canadian flag logo about 15 minutes prior to departure. All our staff wear florescent yellow/orange hats. Please don't look for us at the big store next to the beach. Located at KM 14.1, on hwy 60, in Algonquin Park. GPS: Latitude and longitude of Access Point: 45.535032°, -78.706570°
