A La Carte
Stop at: Skedans Islands
Option 1: K'uuna Llnagaay (Skedans) - Visit the ancient Haida village site on the east coast by travelling one hour by boat. This site has been uninhabited since the 1880s, but you can still see an array of poles standing in their original locations and the depressions of several longhouses. Learn the history and traditions of this Haida village on this full-day cultural adventure. Option 2: World Class Salmon Fishing - Enjoy an hour-long scenic boat ride to the west coast to enjoy a full-day fishing. Cartwright Sound is famous for its nutrient rich water, which is a magnet to salmon! Almost all major runs of salmon on the west coast must pass by Haida Gwaii during migration and consequently into the fishing grounds known to locals as Skidegate Point. Salmon will be professionally packaged for guests to take home. Both of these experiences provide opportunities to view marine life.
Pioneer History
Stop at: Golden Spruce Trail
You will start your day with a short, easy hike on the Golden Spruce trail surrounded by giant old growth trees to view the place where the famous Kid K'iiyas (Ancient Tree) once towered. Then travel to Port Clements to explore its Museum for a walk through Haida Gwaii's pioneer history.
