Yellowknife City Tour - Aurora Viewing
Stop at: Great Slave Lake
Great Slave Lake is famous among anglers for its excellent trout and pike fishing, with its tributaries known for plenty of Arctic grayling. One species that many anglers may have never heard of but will enjoy catching is the inconnu, a large member of the whitefish family.
Stop at: Old Town
One of the most diverse, historic, offbeat neighbourhoods in Canada, Old Town is the beating heart of Yellowknife. Here, where the Precambrian Shield blends into Great Slave Lake, gold seekers approximately 80 years ago pioneered what was to become the North's greatest settlement. Yellowknife eventually grew from its ramshackle roots and moved its city centre in the ’60s to what’s still today called “new town,” but the spirit of Old Town never died. Today, the area is an intriguing mash-up of iconoclastic spirit and local heritage. Log cabins stand next to designer mansions and colourful houseboats, artists sell their wares under the shadow of floatplanes soaring across the sky. Stroll down the famous Ragged Ass Road, enjoy some eclectic dining and hike to the top of Pilot’s Monument for the best view in the city.

3-Day Guided Tour to Yellowknife Aurora Viewing
CA$998The Aurora Borealis ignites when charged solar particles dance with Earth’s upper atmosphere. Depending on which atmospheric layer is "excited," the colors shift—most commonly manifesting as an eerie, breathtaking green glow caused by oxygen atoms colliding 120km above us. In the heart of the Northwest Territories, the Aurora graces the skies an average of 240 nights a year. That means you can witness this celestial spectacle nearly every single night from late summer through early spring! Please note: While there is a 95% chance of spotting the lights under clear skies, the Aurora is a natural phenomenon. Because weather and solar activity are beyond our control, sightings cannot be guaranteed. Premium hotel upgrades to the Chateau Nova or The Explorer may be available.
