Stop at: Rue Saint-Louis
We'll stop at the intersection of Rue Saint Louis and Rue Haldimand which is a very historical intersection to explain the history of 2 of the oldest buildings of Quebec City which were built in the late 1600's including the architecture and difference between the French influence and the British one.
Stop at: Governors' Garden
We will stand at the place known as Governor's Garden where I will explain the Wolfe - Montcalm Monument which commemorates the Plains of Abraham Battle in 1759 and explain how that location used to be dedicated to the Governor of the New France back in the days.
Stop at: Fairmont Le Château Frontenac
By far, the most iconic building of Quebec City and the supposed to be the most photographed hotel in the world. I will explain the history of this building which was built in 1893 and share some fun facts around this hotel. This hotel represents the image of Quebec City around the world. (Outside Tour only)
Stop at: Terrasse Dufferin
Right next to the Chateau Frontenac, we will stop at the Dufferin Terrace to look at the majestic Saint Lawrence River which is vital in the commerce of the entire province of Quebec. I will explain as well the undergrounds of the Dufferin Terrace which has the ruins of the previous habitations of the New France royals. (Outside Tour only)
Stop at: Notre Dame De Quebec Basilica Cathedral
Probably the second most recognized location of Quebec City. I will explain about the history of this building built in the mid 1600's as a promise made by Samuel de Champlain, Founder of Quebec City in 1608. I will also talk about the Seminary of Quebec and City Hall which are in the same square.
Stop at: Quebec City Mural
This mural which was painted in 2001 by a group of French and Quebec City artists on a 4,520 wall tells the story of Quebec City since its early days until today. A beautiful place to stop and learn about our history and very helpful before roaming around the city to better understand its culture.
Stop at: Place Royale
